Buffy sat down, sighing.

"Buffy, are you all right?" Giles asked her in concern.

"I'm fine," she sighed again.

"Are you sure?" Giles tried again, "Because you didn't seem very focused during our training." He held out a bottle of water to her.

"Thanks," she smiled to him.

"Buffy, if something is bothering you and if you wish to talk about it, I'm here."

"I know, and I thank you for that."

They stayed in silence for a moment. Giles knew that it was better to give her time if she decided to tell him her problem.

"It's just that," she finally began, "well, it's about a guy."

"Ah," Giles said a little uncomfortable, "I see. Maybe…you should talk about that with Willow."

He didn't really want to hear about her new crush on a young stupid man who couldn't appreciate her. Not that he would be better but…if only she saw him, he knew he would know how lucky he was to be with her.

"I did!" Buffy practically exclaimed.

"And," he didn't want to leave her like that and think that he didn't want to help her to resolve her problem, even for a brainless boy.

"Well, the problem is that I'm very very in love with him." She said it.

At her confession, Giles tried to show no disappointment. He didn't want her to have even a slight idea about his feelings for her. He tried to stay distant about what she had just revealed to him. But all he wanted at that right moment was actually, to be in his flat alone to drink until he couldn't stay awake.

"And the problem is?" He asked her with calm.

"The big problem is that he doesn't pay attention to me. I don't know what he feels about me. I know that he likes me. But, that's not what I want! I want him to love me, not just like." She pouted lightly.

Before he could add something, she pursued, "I spoke with Willow about that. I told her my plan, but she said that it wasn't a really good idea. So, I would like to know what you think about it. You know, a second opinion…"

"Well, if I may help you."

"So, like I said I had a plan. What would you do if I asked you to 'Lay down on the floor now, cause I want you so badly'."

Giles gulped, he looked at her and took off his glasses to polish them furiously.
"I…I…Buffy…" He stammered like never she heard him.

"I thought to ask to Xander but I didn't think that it was a great idea; and with Anya, I don't think she would have enjoy my question. But, maybe she would agree with my plan." She seemed more talking to herself than to Giles.

Giles was still in the shock at her idea; well, and especially, he was imagining what if she really asked him that. No doubt, he knew what he would do without any thought.

"So," she tried to have his attention back, "what would you say it?"

"About my question?" she rolled her eyes.

"Buffy, I'm…I'm not sure that, I mean…" He was still polishing his glasses.

"Giles, you should stop it, or soon you won't have anything to polish."

"What?" He looked at his hands, "yes." He put back his glasses.

"Buf…Buffy," he really didn't know what to say, so, he said the only thing that he thought was right. "I don't know."

"You don't know?" she repeated incredulously. "You mean, if I asked you that, your answer would be 'I don't know'. You should tell me if you think it's just plain bad or a good way to shake him and show him what I feel."

"Buffy, Willow’s right. In my opinion, I think you should at first try to really talk with him about your feelings. If you are really in love with him," he managed to keep his control, "it would be better to talk with him and see what his feelings are for you."

"But he's totally clueless that I see him like that. I mean, he has no idea. I know, incredible; but totally true," she sighed more than necessary, "See, I'm trying to tell him and nothing." She raised her hands theatrically in the air.

"Buffy, you should-" but stopped when something hit him, "Buffy? Did you say that you are…trying to tell him?"

"Yay! He begins to understand!" Buffy smiled with triumph.

"Buf…Buf…Buf..." But no words or sounds could be found out of Giles.

Buffy didn't remember hearing him stammering like that.

"Yes, Giles," she giggled lightly.

Giles took a very deep breath to calm down, and then he said, "Glad that you find it funny to kid me. I hope you enjoyed it!" The anger could be heard in his tone.

"Giles!" Buffy said in alert, "I'm not kidding you. How could you think that? That I could be so insensitive."

"Buffy, please." It was more a plea.

"Giles, I want you to listen me very carefully."

She waited until he looked at her, eyes locked to each other.

"Giles, I'm in love with the most handsome, intelligent, incredible, nicest man that I ever met. And it's you."

She stopped to let him digest what she had just said.

"And I know that you're in love with me, in fact."

He looked surprised, he was sure that he had always been careful not show his feelings to her. But her voice was so sure.

"I know it, I used a spell," she said in a whisper but he heard it.

"Excuse-me? You did what?"

"I was obligated to do it." Buffy said with assurance, "Mister, you didn’t show me anything even when I was able to read minds." She raised one eye. "The only thing that you let me read was about my shoes!"

"Yes," Giles remembered, "it was difficult but I succeed to block temporarily my thoughts."

"No kidding?" Buffy said with a light sarcasm.

"Yes," Giles said softly, looking at the floor.

"So, what spell did you use?" Giles suddenly remembered it.

"A…dream spell. I went in to your dreams to-"

"I know exactly what it is." Giles cut her off and became totally red.

"Wow, Giles." Buffy said impressed, "I didn't know that someone could become so red in not even one second."

"Giles," she said in an uncomfortable voice, that worried him a little, "What is it, Buffy?
Do you…do you regret that you have told me-"

"I could never regret it!" She exclaimed of sincerity, "It's just that I hope you aren't angry with me for doing it."

Before he could answer her, she continued, "It's just that I needed to be sure of your feelings about me; and that you didn't see me like a daughter. Cause that would have been eiww."

He nodded.

"Well, even if in fact, I know that it wasn't that. Cause, you know the flirting part."

"Flirting part?" Giles asked incredulously. "I…I haven't…I mean."

"Oh come on!" she rolled her eyes, "So, you’re saying that it was unconscious. But it was there. And, each time, when there was a step forward, it was like after that, that you would do four steps back." she sighed, "So, I needed to do something about that and take things personally in hands." She smiled, satisfied with herself.

Giles closed his eyes. She was right. He had never really realized that he had flirted with her and how responsive she had been. Incredible, he thought, shaking his head.

He opened his eyes, this time Buffy noticed something different in them. Love—he wasn't hiding his love for her anymore, and, there was something else…he was looking at her mischievously.

"Ask me again?" he asked her.

"Sorry?" Buffy was taking by surprise.

"Ask me again?" He said woefully.

She gulped, "What would you say if I asked you to lay down ‘cause I want you so badly?"

He looked at her and without saying a word, eyes still locked on hers, he lay on the floor.

Buffy smiled in lust.

Without warning, Giles used a technical gesture with his legs, and then Buffy felt over him, and he turned them so he was on the top.

"Giles!" Buffy exclaimed, "Why have you never shown me that?"

"I kept it for a special occasion." He kissed her throat.

She moaned, "Oh Giles!" Taking his hair in her fingers, to raise his head. "I waited a long long time. And my patience is now totally gone. I want you."

Giles laughed and his eyes were smiling too. "I love you." He said it.

"I love you too. So much."

Step by step, slowly, their lips met and they shared their first kiss. A very passionate and delicate kiss…promise of their future.

When the kiss finished, Buffy and Giles felt both incredibly good and for the first time complete.

After a moment of recuperation, Buffy looked strangely at Giles who was laughing.

"Can I know what you find so funny?"

"Just," Giles gave her a soft kiss of her lips, "that I thank and love your legendary tact." He winked at her.

She joined him in the laugh, until the hunger for each other became totally uncontrollable.
